Nora Heilmann
studied at Amsterdam School for New Dance Development. Her research on movement is based on Body Weather Laboratory, various Asian martial arts (Kungfu, Kalarippayat, Qigong), and contemporary dance. Since 2001 she actualised several projects as a choreographer and dancer. Among these works are for example AufTrieb (2002), Cassis Caput (2003), SPUNK - research (2004).

Nora Heilmann tries to bypass representation on stage and the spectacle of the visible in her works. She is interested in the encounter of performer and recipient, the mutual exchange and questioning of expectations and mechanisms on both sides.

This piece is not about anyTHING.
Surface. Potential. Open proposition.
Killing the dance. Reanimating it.

SPUNK 2005 is the sequel of SPUNK - research which already visited diskurs 04.

Two dancers dance a duet. The audience finds itself at the centre of action. It enters a dialogue with the action by its individual and active decision of perception. Instead of a realm of meaning a sphere of opportunity is created: The angle point of SPUNK is the largest possible equality between audience and actor.

SPUNK is no piece of art but rather the process and quest for a language on stage which resists the habitualisation of dance and audience.
SPUNK does not merely refer to perceiving movement but also to a perception of time, space, and your own body.
